The "Una biblioteca… spaziale" (a space library) project was conceived in 2025 by Daria Dall'Olio, Amalia Persico, and Alice Spina.

It is a project created in collaboration with the Classense Library, dedicated to young generations between the ages of 8 and 11. Born with the idea of captivating the public in an engaging and inclusive way, it has transformed the libraries of the Ravenna area into a space for discovery, experimentation, and imagination. It is offered as both a school and extracurricular activity, and through interactive meetings, group activities, and creative workshops, boys and girls have explored themes related to space, planets, and stars, developing curiosity, critical thinking, a spirit of collaboration, and expressive skills.

The project is structured into three distinct meetings.

  1. "A for Astronomer" by Daria Dall'Olio, astronomer. What is astronomy? What are the professions related to space? A free-flowing conversation about stars, planets, and the universe.
  2. "Colorful Stars" curated by Amalia Persico, science communicator. Games, quizzes, and experiments to discover many curiosities about astronomy past and present.
  3. "Space for Art" curated by Daria Dall'Olio, astronomer. We reveal how great discoveries about the sky have influenced artists over the centuries; completion and presentation of artistic works.

The project has been accepted by the scientific committee of the "Communicating astronomy with the public" (CAP) meeting of the International astronomical union. Daria Dall'Olio will present it to the scientific community at the meeting to be held in Yerevan (Armenia) in May 2026.
